The level of training required to be a C2BU volunteer is determined by the position.
In addition to C2BU’s own requirements, the State of California has rigorous regulations for anyone desiring to work directly with minor children rescued from sex trafficking. These children have suffered trauma and abuse from adults most of their lives, so it is important that we train and prepare C2BU volunteers and employees in the area of trauma so they are equipped, encouraged and empowered to lovingly and appropriately serve these young ladies. A large percentage of these vulnerable children have lived transit lives, never experiencing the consistent, loving support of a family and home. We at C2BU desire to stop that cycle and provide them a safe home as well as long-term, loving relationships with emotionally healthy adults. To ensure the State of California regulations are met, C2BU has partnered with the Sacramento Law Enforcement Chaplaincy and other community leaders to provide the highest training standards and resources for our volunteers and employees.
When you have completed the mandatory 3 hour prerequisite meeting and the required 21 hours of training, you will be eligible to apply for positions at Courage House (both volunteer and paid) as well as community positions that work with this population and in some cases law enforcement and juvenile hall.
Training costs: $150 – covers all training materials
Back ground check, drug testing and health screenings will be required for an additional cost if you are selected as a volunteer or hired as an employee.
For those of you looking for other volunteer or employment opportunities that do not include working with minor victims of sex trafficking this training is not required. However, it is mandatory to attend one of our monthly informational orientations. These opportunities will be sent out via our monthly Enews blasts.
